Mary Proulx Obituary
Born in Lisbon Falls, Maine, of Josephine T. (Wrenn) Ross and Levi M. Ross Jr. in 1931, she was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband, Henry R. Proulx, her Brother Levi Ross III and most of her beloved in-laws. She is survived by her siblings, Margaret Drottar, Albert Ross (Susan) and James Ross; five children, Althea (Kevin) Greaney, Marjorie (Harold) Mayhew, Henry R. Proulx Jr., Michele Proulx, and Christopher Proulx; eight grandchildren, Vanessa (Sal) Fusco, Sophia (RD) Blakeslee, Nicole (Michael) Laviolette, Owen (Jenn) Mayhew, Brendan Mayhew, Nelson Mayhew, Cara Greaney, and Nicholas Proulx; three great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends that she loved with her whole being.
A memorial service will be held at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor, on Saturday, May 28, at 11 a.m. Video access is available for family and friends that are unable to make the trip to Connecticut at

Mom loved people. She was a mom to many and would worry about everyone else, even as she needed help herself. We are grateful to the staff and residents at Brookdale South Windsor for being a wonderful support to mom and our family. Thank you to the staff at VNHSC for the years of palliative care and months of hospice care that they provided that kept her out of the hospital. When nursing care became necessary, Cherry Brook in Canton and Accent care Hospice took mom in and cared for her, helping her to go home with calm grace. We have been blessed by a mom with a sense of humor and a huge loving heart that created a loving home and family. Grateful for everyone that joined our family to care for and love Mom.
