Robert B. Gegetskas, 80, of Granby, passed away peacefully on Feb. 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born in Hartford on Dec. 19, 1942, son to the late Edward J. and Estelle (Grushas) Gegetskas. Bobby was an owner and operator of his family's business, Airport Service Station, in Windsor Locks, that was started by his father back in 1955. He had many fond memories working alongside his brothers. He later was a hard-working, talented, mechanic for many local businesses. Bobby was the former fire chief in the Poquonock Fire Department where he served as a volunteer for many years. Bobby was a lover of all animals as he spent many years caring for and rescuing stray cats and other animals. It was a passion of his to help those in need. Bobby was also a devout catholic and was a longtime communicant of St. Damien of Molokai Parish in Windsor.

Bobby is survived by Lucy Ann (Mazziotto) Spakauskas, the mother of his children and his best friend; his children, Donna Marshall and her husband, Eric, Diane Gegetskas and her husband, Dennis Hurlburt, Mark Morell and his wife, Dina, Robert B. Gegetskas, II, and his wife, Sheryl, Debra Morell, Paul Gegetskas and his wife, Angela and Suzette Morell and her husband, Andrew Rosenberg; his eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way. Bobby is also survived by his brother Richard J. Gegetskas; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bobby is predeceased by his wife, Marion "Cookie" (Morell) Gegetskas; his twin daughters; his brother, Edward M. Gegetskas and his sister-in-law Audrey (Lanphear) Gegetskas.

All funeral services for Bobby will be private. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery (Rte. 75) in Windsor.
