FUNERAL HOME

Ronald Seavey Obituary

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Ronald Arthur Seavey, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Ron was born on Oct. 5, 1936, and died on Dec. 16, 2022, at the age of 86.

Ron was the son of the late Ronald and Elizabeth Seavey and grew up in Hartford and Manchester. He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Eunice (Dubois) Seavey; his daughter Patricia Voisine and her husband, Michael; his son James Seavey and his wife, Pauline. Ron was the loving grandfather to Sarah (Voisine) Hamilton and her husband, Duncan, Alex Voisine, and was predeceased by his granddaughter and partner in crime, Meghan Voisine.

Ron was known and loved by many and lived a long and full life. After high school, he joined the Army and served in Germany. Upon his return home, he married and raised his family in Enfield. He worked at The Hartford for 34 years. Ron was a passionate outdoorsman who had a true love for fishing especially on his annual trips to the Allagash. After his retirement he and Eunice moved to St. Agatha, Maine and had a home on Long Lake where he spent precious time with family and friends over many years. He could always be counted on for a wonderful conversation whether over coffee in the morning while looking out at the lake, on a fishing boat, or on a walk. Many fond memories were made during these years driving his Bronco in the back woods searching for moose, playing silly card games and driving his boat on tubing excursions with his grandchildren (sometimes not going fast enough for 4-year-old Meg). Ron and Eunice spent many years traveling the country and living in both Arizona and Florida as snowbirds. No matter where they went, Ron would always make friends, reflecting how kind, friendly and open he was to everyone who knew him. Those years of exploring national parks and sightseeing across the country were some of his most cherished memories. Many hours were spent watching UConn basketball and the Red Sox. He was a true dog lover, especially of golden retrievers, and now joins his beloved Buddy in heaven.

Ron's family is grateful for all of the care he received from the staff at the Suffield House who made him comfortable in the final year of his life. An extra thank you to Melissa who made him feel special every day.

Please join the family on Friday, Dec. 23, at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Road in Enfield, the family will receive friends from 10 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 453 Bridge St., Suffield.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to alz.org or can be mailed to Alzheimer's Association Attn: Donor Service, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
