Rosemarie Langlois Obituary

Rosemarie Angelina (Minicucci) Langlois, 82, of Enfield, ascended into the journey of everlasting life on June 15, 2013, in the care of her loving family. Rosemarie is now reunited in heaven with her parents, Donato and Anna (Leone) Minicucci; her husband of 35 years, Joseph Langlois; and her brother, Angelo Minicucci.

Rosemarie is survived by her beloved son and his wife, John and Rita Langlois of Enfield, and four grandchildren. Rosemarie was "Nana Rose" to her four great-grandchildren, Eric, Kevin, Colin, and Sarah O'Brien. She will be missed by her sister-in-law, Joan Minicucci of Westfield; three nephews, Daniel, Michael, and Christopher; and her niece, Maria.

Rosemarie was born in Hartford on Aug. 14, 1930, but was a resident of Enfield, previously having lived in the Springfield area. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Church, Longmeadow, Mass. Rosemarie was very active in area clubs and organizations. She was a member of the Springfield Golden Agers, Longmeadow Senior Center as a volunteer providing lunches. She was past president and treasurer of Ramapoque Women's of West Springfield, a member of the Senior Center of East Longmeadow, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Women's Guild, and a tour group leader for many years, for Italian Exclusive Vacations until 2012. Rosemarie retired in 1996 as office manager from Crestview Country Club, Agawam. Previously, she was office manager of City Motors in Springfield's South End, where she remained until the facility's closing in 1980.

A funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, June 19, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow. Everyone is asked to please meet directly at the church. Following the funeral Mass, Rosemarie will be laid to rest in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State St., Springfield.

Her family will gather and receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, June 18, from 3 to 8 p.m. in Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 413-525-2800, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow.

Flowers are welcome, but if you prefer expressions of sympathy may be made to the D'Amour Cancer Center, 3500 Main St., Springfield, MA 01199; or to a charity of one's intention.

I know Rosemarie from the Mount Carmel Women's Guild. She was so much fun to be around and always made me laugh. I remember her saying, "Ashley, don't burn me with those meatballs!" when we were cooking for the Open Pantry. She had a huge heart and was always willing to show up at events to help even when I knew she was not feeling the greatest. Rosemarie, I will really miss your warm spirit. I wish you knew the impact you had on my life and the entire Women's Guild.

Dear John and Rita

So sorry to read of your mom's passing. It seems that our family is getting smaller as we all grow older. All of our parents are gone and now it is our turn to move onto a better place. Rosemarie was a wonderful person and a wonderful cousin to have. Over the years we were all busy bringing up our families and did not see as much of each other as when we were younger. She will be missed by each person whose life she has touched. From her cousin Johanne Marois
