Ryan Towle Obituary

Ryan Steele Towle, 28, of Manchester, beloved son of David and Sally Towle, died peacefully Monday, March 20, 2017, at Bristol Hospital. He had suffered from complications of having Addison's disease.

Ryan was born Sept. 7, 1988, in Manchester and had been a lifelong resident. He enjoyed playing midget football for the Manchester Rec and continued playing football for the Manchester High School team. He was also part of the wrestling team and member of the MHS band. Although Ryan didn't get to graduate with his class (due to being sick often), he was determined to get his GED. He spent many evenings going to night school and received his diploma while at the hospital, in 2009. He was formerly employed with Amerbelle Textile Corporation in Rockville. He also volunteered with the Manchester Area Network on AIDS (MANA). Ryan aspired to be a pharmacist before being stricken by his illness.

In addition to his parents, Ryan is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Robin and David Fecso, of Simsbury; his brother, Derek Towle and his fiancé, Jessie Foster, of Columbia; a nephew, Nathanael Fecso of Simsbury; and many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, their families, and close friends.

The family of Ryan would also like to extend a personal thank-you to all the doctors, nurses, and medical staff who treated him at Village Green of Bristol and Bristol Hospital.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester, on Sunday, March 26, from 2 to 6 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Covenant Church, 302 Hackmatack St., Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Adrenal Diseases Foundation. To find out more about Addison's disease and to make an online donation, please go to

Time is all we really have. So to the family and friends of Ryan Towle: give yourselves time. Have good days, when you're ready to. Have bad days, if need be. Allow yourself to breathe in moments when your chest feels tight, and when your heart feels too heavy to carry. Allow yourself to grieve, once the process finds you, and not the other way around. Hold yourselves up on both feet if you can, or lean on those closest to you if you cannot...but eventually you will find the ground underneath you. Your pain and heartache; the same pain shared by all of us...all of Ryan's closest friends and associates, can now close it's eyes and rest, and begin to finally heal.
