Stephanie Silver Obituary

Stephanie Silver
1963~2025
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Stephanie Silver on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 14, 1963, in Stafford Springs, CT, she was the fourth daughter of the late Steven and Shirley Arre. Stephanie was married to Robert (Bob) Silver, Sr., the love of her life, for 21 years. She would often say that her greatest love, aside from her husband, was for her son, Robert W. Silver, Jr. After graduating from Enrico Fermi High School, Stephanie went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Southern Connecticut State University. She began her career in banking as a teller at Society for Savings and eventually rose to the role of vice president at Webster Bank. A devoted communicant of both Holy Family Parish and St. Patrick's Church. Stephanie was also an avid reader, particularly enjoying Patricia Cornwall novels. She had the habit of reading the last page of a book first to see how it ended. Stephanie was also passionate about crocheting, with her most recent project being scarves for the next Hartford HealthCare Medical Mission. Stephanie could be described in many ways. She possessed a sharp wit, and her remarkable sense of humor was well recognized by everyone who knew her. However, the word that best captures Stephanie is "strength." Throughout the past two and a half years, she faced and fought many battles with unwavering resilience. In addition to her family, Stephanie had two passions-crossword puzzles and the New York Giants. She could complete the entire New York Times crossword puzzle in pen and had an impressive ability to break down football plays, often identifying penalties before they were called. Her quick wit and excellent sense of humor were well known to all who knew her.
Stephanie is survived by her son, Robert W. Silver, Jr. and his wife Laurie, as well as her granddaughter, Lillian Evelyn Silver of Broad Brook. She leaves behind four sisters: Deborah Storer, Marie Arre and her husband John Newkirk, Concetta Arre, and Michelle Arre. She is also survived by her in-laws, Maureen and Charles Silver, her brothers-in-law Christopher Silver and his wife Lynn, and Adam Silver and his wife Meridith, Additional surviving family includes nieces Valerie Lavoie and her husband Steven, Kristen Carleton and her husband Robert, Kimberly Pacino and her husband Joe, Rachel Silver, Reese Silver, and Peyton Silver, nephews William Storer and his wife Samantha, Matt Newkirk and his wife Rachael, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is also remembered by her aunt and uncle, Anne and Michael Rossi, her best friends Paula Menard and Christine Stiso, and her loyal dog Vito. Stephanie was predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Silver, Sr., her parents Steven and Shirley Arre, her grandparents Emma and Thomas Mortell, Mary and Steven Arre, and Eileen Stanton. She was also preceded in death by a niece Victoria Storer, her cousins Michael Rossi III, Christopher Rossi, Michael Rumore, Joseph Hundley, Jerome Hundley, Kathleen Rumore and Anthony Arre, as well as her brothers-in-law William Storer, Jr. and Bradford West, her aunts Irene Rumore and Rita Hundley, and Ann Mortell, an Uncle Francis Mortell.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Hartford Hospital for the care they provided Stephanie including David Yaffee, MD, Daniel Walker, MD, and Faiqa Cheema, MD. A very special heartfelt thank you to Vasanth Kainkaryam, M.D., whose care, compassion, and advocacy for Stephanie was both tireless and immeasurable.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield.
