Stephen Penley Obituary

Stephen Lynn Penley, 66, of Enfield, beloved husband of Cathy (Leonard) Penley for 44 years, entered into eternal peace Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at home surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in Bristol, Tennessee, Stephen graduated from East Tennessee State University. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Hazardville United Methodist Church in Enfield. A truly dedicated employee at Konica-Minolta, he was employed with the company for 42 years before retiring as technical director. Stephen loved the outdoors, especially fishing, boating, and golf.

Besides his wife, Cathy, he is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Penley and her husband, Steven Threlkeld, of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, Andrea Strouth and her husband, Gregory Strouth, of Somers; his mother, Dorothy (Galligher) Penley of Bristol, Tennessee; his brother, Wayne Penley and his wife, Lois, of Bluff City, Tennessee; his beloved grandchildren, Lillian Patricia Threlkeld, Hallie Penley Strouth, and Elle Penley Strouth. Stephen also leaves many extended family.

Services will be held at Weaver Funeral Home, 630 Locust St., Bristol, Tennessee, Monday, July 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Glenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephen's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Steve, I miss you so much I can hardly make it. Honey, I think about you every day. I'm keeping flowers,(roses) on your grave. I know you know I'm still in Tn. My health isn't so good right now, but I'll be OK. I'll love you forever. I visit you often. We'll be together some day again. I love you so very much. Your wife forever......?Cathy
