A group of us, including Terry, were studying for an engineering physics exam at the University of Connecticut, Storrs Connecticut around 1966 and we were all stressed out. All except Terry. He had this huge grin on his face and I asked him how he could take this exam so calmly. "I am going to see Judy (Squires) this weekend" was his reply. If you remember a line from a popular song "Two hearts beat as one", that's what made me think of Terry and Judy this week.

Judy, Sean, Mike and Megan, Its with a heavy sadness in my heart when I learned of Terry's passing. He was a true friend, my first friend in CT. We had many laughs about how he and Judy became our friends, but it was one of the best moments of our life in CT. We shared so many laughs in life , in golf and about our kids. He will be missed by Trudy and I every day, but he will be in our memory forever. Sorry we could't be there for the wake, but we were with you all in spirit. Love, Joe and Trudy

Sympathies and condolences to the family.

In my experience, Terry was a genuine nice guy. He treated those who worked for him as peers and he was always willing to stand up for what he believed in. It was a pleasure to work with him. He will be sadly missed in many circles.

I am so very sorry to hear this. Terry was one of my favorite people in my 13 years at Maguire. His dry sense of humor was a delight. Ruth Fitzgerald

My condolences to the family. I only met Terry recently while working on a project together for the Town but found him to be extremely professional, down to earth and a pleasure to work with.

To the McCarthy Family, I offer my sincerest condolences with the passing of Terry. Terry was a peer but more a mentor. Terry was a solid Engineer and even more so a man. I even had the joy of playing golf a couple times with Terry.
May Terry be at peace now.
May comfort come to you all in time.
Godspeed.
