Theodore "Ted" Marcella
Born on August 16, 1939, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved son of Theodore Marcella and Ann Friedman Marcella, and the devoted husband of Louise Tamburri Marcella, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage marked by deep love, loyalty, and partnership.
Ted was a proud father to his sons, Ted and Glenn Marcella, and a loving father-in-law to Stacy and Elizabeth Marcella. He was a cherished grandfather to Julia, Sophie, Olivia, Jack, and Emma Marcella, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Raised in the Bronx, New York, Ted carried with him a lifelong love for sports and community. Few things made him happier than Yankees baseball and UConn basketball, passions he followed with enthusiasm and devotion. Even more meaningful to him were the many years he spent coaching youth sports, especially Little League baseball, where he made a lasting impact on countless young lives through his patience, encouragement, and love of the game.
Above all else, Ted was a family man. His greatest joy came from time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and from watching the people he loved grow and succeed. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his generosity of spirit, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
Ted's legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and in the many lives he touched both on and off the field.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Parish – St. Matthew Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT 06084.
