Mary (Cutillo) Marcella, 98, of Waterbury, was reunited with her husband in heaven on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Bucks Hill. She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo E. Marcella who predeceased her in 2011.
Mary was born in Mansfield, MA on December 23, 1927, a daughter of the late Henry and Elvira (Caruso) Cutillo. Growing up in Massachusettes, Mary moved to Waterbury after meeting her husband Angelo at the Sugar Bowl in Waterbury, where they went on to start and raise their family.
Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Gary E. Marcella Sr. and his wife Nadia of Waterbury, as well as her two grandchildren, Melissa Headrick and her husband Dan of Waterbury, Gary Marcella Jr. and his wife Laura of Oakville, as well as five great-grandchildren, Grady, Logan Marcella, Myles and Mya Langs, and Vivian Marie Headrick, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Eva Steinagle and Rose DePillo.
Mary's family would like to thank all of the Staff of Autumn Lake Healthcare, especially, Paula and Katie, for all of the wonderful care that they showed to Mary during her time there.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Church, Mary Mother of the Church Parish in Waterbury. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. A calling hour will be held Thursday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.
