Thomas J. Brocuglio, Sr., age 64, of Enfield, CT, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023, in Enfield, CT in the presence of his family and brothers and sisters in uniform.
Tom began his career in the fire service in 1988 in Thompsonville, CT and selflessly served his community until his retirement in 2016. While serving he found his calling to continue protecting his community by starting Total Protection Security Systems and was proudly celebrating the 30th year of his business that he passed to his son. He was a beacon of the community and spent his last minutes volunteering his time at the Italian festival at Mount Carmel.
It was later in life that Tom found his second passion, his grandchildren, Harrison, Perry and Lennox and his toy yorkies JD, Harley and Leah. Aside from managing the Elks Lodge, riding his Harley's or cruising to the next Nascar race in his camper, he could be found hanging with his grandkids and his toes in the sand at his home in New Smyrna, FL. Tom's dedication to his wife, Nancy, TJ and Taylor was certainly inspiring as he exemplified what it meant to be a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, father-in-law and friend to many.
He was the true definition of a leader and will be harrowingly missed by his family, his community, and his fellow firefighters.
The family would like to thank the staff at Baystate Medical Center, the Enfield EMS, Police Department, Massachusetts state police and Thompsonville Fire Department who sprang into action and escorted their brother during his last moments here in this world.
Visiting Hours celebrating Tom's life will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd, Enfield CT. A Catholic Mass will be renowned on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in St, Patrick's King St. Cemetery, Enfield.
