William L. Pallait

1913 - 2016

William L. Pallait, 103, of Clearwater, Florida, and South Windsor, beloved husband of the late Emily (Kainz) Pallait, died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at home with his family by his side.

William was born Oct. 8, 1913, in Manchester, son of the late Louis and Rose (Keller) Pallait. He grew up in Buckland section of Manchester on his family's tobacco farm on Windsor Street. William was married to the love of his life, Emily Kainz, and together they settled in South Windsor in 1947. William owned and operated Valley Tool & Machine, a business he started in 1948. He later went on to work for Hamilton Standard as a buyer and administrator, where he worked on the space suit. He also worked as a toll collector for the state of Connecticut and as a buyer for Berken Manufacturing. In his retirement William spent his winters in Clearwater starting in 1975. He was a 32-degree Mason and member of Evergreen Lodge 88 in South Windsor for 65 years. He was also a Shriner on the marching patrol and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Knights of Pythius. William was a member of Wapping Community Church for many years. A kind, caring, and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be greatly missed.

He leaves his daughter, Linda Bouley, of Concord, New Hampshire; his grandson Jim Bouley and his wife, Tara Reardon, of Concord; his grandson Jackson Bouley, of Concord; and his cousin and nephews, Charlie, Richard, Allen, and Tommy Keller. He was predeceased by his sister, Lena Brown; and his cousins Lillian and Herman Keller.

His family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Buckland Cemetery, Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
