Wiley Lynch Obituary

Wiley J. Lynch 1941—2017
Wiley J. Lynch 75, of Forreston, died Monday, September 4, 2017, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Wiley was born and raised in the community he loved of Forreston on October 30, 1941; the son of Jack W. and Florence (Kohl) Lynch. He married Carol A. Henning November 12, 1960, at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Forreston. He worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for many years; he was an Ogle County Deputy Coroner, EMT for the Forreston Ambulance Service, and owned and operated Wiley's CITGO in Forreston and in his later years he enjoyed selling Louisiana Style Snow Balls to the hometown kids and surrounding communities. Wiley was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, an avid Forreston Cardinal fan, he most enjoyed being outdoors on his deck, fishing and hunting. His family was always most important to him, especially all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Carol Lynch of Forreston; son, Jim Lynch of Forreston; daughters, Barbara (Daniel Sr.) Cederholm of Forreston and Jodie (Mark) Hundertmark of German Valley; sister, Leatrice Bicksler of Leaf River; six grandchildren, Daniel Cederholm Jr., Christopher (Chelsey) Cederholm, Amanda (Justin) Johnson, Jeremy (Sarah) Hundertmark, Joseph (Katie) Hundertmark, and James W. Lynch; nine great-grandchildren, Samantha Cederholm, Hannah Cederholm, Zach Cederholm, Gage Cederholm, Cooper Johnson, Emma Hundertmark, Eva Hundertmark, Mason Hundertmark, and Grant Hundertmark; and many nieces and nephews. Wiley was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dale Green, and sister, Ione Goodwin.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2017, at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Scott Ralston will officiate. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Forreston. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Wiley's memory.
