I was so sad to read the Journal on the internet to learn of Alice's death. I have many fond memories of Alice and feel privileged to have gotten to know her and her mother.

Alice was always so enthusiastic when we were involved on a project and so concerned about others.

I will always cherish the memory of the evening I spent with her shortly before I left Lincoln in '98.

My sympathy to her family and all who mourn her. I regret that I will not be able to atted her service.

We recall with pleasure and inspiration our long friendship with Alice and her family. I, Robert, knew the five Abel children and their parents, Hazel and George, from my early childhood. Alice was devoted to her family and friends, Lincoln and the state of Nebraska, as well as the University of Nebraska and other institutions to which she gave generous and unswerving support through the years. She touched the lives of a great many people who will remember and miss her. We extend our condolences to all those who are saddened by Alice's death.
