Charlene Woolman Obituary

Charlene Woolman

September 3, 1938 – July 13, 2024

Charlene (Smiley) Woolman, age 85, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024 surrounded by family. She was born in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska to Carl and Lauree.

She met and married her high school sweetheart, Clancy. She graduated from the last graduating class from Cathedral High School and attended nursing school. Charlene enjoyed being a stay at home Mom before working for two State Farm agents helping them build their clientele base. She enjoyed meeting all the various people through her job and made several friends along the way.

Charlene was an active volunteer in the Lincoln community throughout the years from being a Boy Scout Den Mother, member of the Lincoln Jaycees, president of the Lancaster Muscular Dystrophy Chapter, instrumental in starting the Pius X High School Booster Club, and many more.

Charlene spent a great deal of time supporting her family in the various school events, sports activities, and with their careers. She loved holiday cookie baking and creating new memories with her family and all the laughs along the way. She also enjoyed playing bridge, dinners with friends, watching sports on TV, and having a glass of wine or two.

She is survived by her four children: Ed (Vicki), Tim, Deb (Brad) Ramsay, and Mike (Denise). Grandchildren: Drew (Nikki) and Jake Ramsay, Peter, Kat (Jake) Scribner, and Aubry Woolman, and Great Grandchildren: Cora and Crey Ramsay and Ezra Abraham.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clancy, parents, brother, sisters, and many cherished friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at St. John's the Apostle Catholic Church, 7601 Vine St, Lincoln NE, with Father Brouillette officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, July 17th at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home with a Rosary following at 7:00pm.

Special thanks to HoriSun Hospice and the Monarch for the loving care they gave Charlene and her family.

Memorials in lieu of flowers to the Monarch and St. John's Catholic church.

Charlene was a wonderful lady. To many fun memories I have to mention of this wonderful family. I think I enjoyed more dinners at their dinner table than my own in grade and high school. Deb and I will always share the phone call from Colorado involving her and her soon to be husband, or the time Mike, an All State high school runner had to slow me down at one of my 1st indoor track meets letting me know the race was longer on an indoor track than outdoors. Charlene and Clancy were a wonderful couple and our family are thinking of the Woolman´s during this time. PS: Charlene was so good at being a State Farm agent, she is the reason our family remains with them til this day. Love, Carson family.

Charlene was a good friend of my family long before I came to SF. She was such a gracious lady and partner for the agents she worked with, truly a Good Neighbor to all their clients. Blessings to her family forever.
