Daniel "Dan" L. Duffy

December 5, 1941 - June 29, 2025

Daniel "Dan" L. Duffy was born December 5, 1941, in Honeoye Falls, N.Y. He was raised in West Bloomfield, N.Y., where he attended grade school and then graduated from Honeoye Falls Central High School in 1959.

He passed away in Lincoln, Neb., on June 29, 2025.

After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Lincoln, in 1961, where he lived until his death.

Dan attended St. Luke United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

Dan was a founding member of the 551st Strategic Missile Squadron. One of his proudest achievements was having a bench dedicated to the 551st SMS installed in the Veterans Memorial Garden at Antelope Park in Lincoln in 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon Otto Duffy; sons, David, Darrin and Dana; daughters-in-law, Alexa and Danette; grandchildren, Boden and Dalanie; brother and sister-in-law, Daryl and Gloria Duffy; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Paul Depascale; sisters-in-law, Judy and Marie Duffy, Darleen Richard and Lu Otto; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Jane Otto; and many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

Visitation with the family present is planned for Thursday, August 14th, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Metcalf Funeral Home, 245 N. 27th St., Lincoln. A memorial service is planned for Friday, August 15th, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a lunch to be held at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1621 Superior St., Lincoln.
