It is with immense sadness that David's family announces his peaceful passing at the age of 73.

David was born in Lincoln, NE, on April 26, 1950, the youngest of two sons born to Donna and Russell Ripley.

He is preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Maxwell Christopher-David Ripley. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968, with accomplishments including Choir President, Madigals, Opera, Glee, Octet, Football, Varsity Track, L Club, and Joy Night. He also received three Track Varsity Letter Awards. He was one of only two LHS athletes to win two consecutive, record-breaking State Shot Put titles, including a State gold medal; he was inducted into the LHS Athletic Hall of Fame and served on its Board of Directors. David regularly worked State Track & Field Meets and was a judge at the Cornhusker State Games. David had a long, successful career as a Wholesale Territory Sales Manager, earning numerous top sales awards and hosting many tire sales incentive trips out of the country. David's interests included music, military history, reading, and coin collecting.

Memorial donations may be sent to the Lincoln High School Athletic Hall of Fame, 2229 J Street, Lincoln, NE 68510.

To Dave´s family & Friends,

I have warm feelings and great memories of Dave. He was a gentle giant with a big heart and kind ways that radiated from his ever smiling face. He shared his deep full voice in the many musical events in high school and added a wonderful character to all parts that he played. I had surgery in my senior year and Dave was among a contingent of well wishers to visit me during my recovery. Those things we remember. He cared. My condolences to Dave´s family and know that Dave was well loved by many and he made a difference in many lives. I wish you well and blessings of many happy memories.
