Donald D Wheatley, 88, of Eagle passed July 24, 2022. He was born to Viola & William Wheatley in Aug 1933. Don was married to Mildred Hartman, his high school sweetheart, for 68 years.
Don loved farming the homestead of both the Wheatleys and the Burdicks a couple miles apart. Don did odd jobs until his friend James Smith got him on at Burlington Northern Shops in Havelock, in addition to farming.
Don loved farm sales, motorcycles, polka/accordion music and helping friends and neighbors in need. He was an icon in the neighborhood on his 4 wheeler with his dog Rudy or Mildred on back.
Don is survived by his children Janet Wheatley, Jodene & Greg Crawford, Don & Jolee Wheatley, Sharon & Russ Hintz, Rick & Ronda Wheatley, and Joyce & Greg Vogt; many grandchildren; siblings Marion Frymire, Karen Hartman, Earl Hartman, Phyllis Hartman, Marlene Schroder, Kenny & Ruth Hartman, Ron Hartman, Donna & Larry Harshfield, and Daryl & Lyn Hartman; and many nieces and nephews.
Don is preceded in death by his wife Mildred, parents William & Viola Wheatley and Karl & Margaret Hartman; siblings Bill Wheatley, Wilma & Eugene West, Larry & Jackie Wheatley, Ethel & Dale Dreeszen, Eugene Hartman, Dorothy & Melvin Kearn, Mitzie Hartman, Karl Hartman Jr, Arnold Schroder.
Funeral services: Thurs. July 28 at 10:30 am, at the Palmyra Presbyterian Church. Visitation: Wed, July 27 4-8 pm with family 6-8 at Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse.

My condolences to the entire family!! I would always enjoy Don when I would visit with him at the sale barn or the Otoe County Fair!!!!
