Frank Joseph Schultz, Jr.

May 4, 1945 - November 11, 2024

LINCOLN - Frank Joseph Schultz Jr., age 79, of Lincoln, NE, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 after a five-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born on May 4, 1945 in Geneva, NE to Frank Sr. and Mildred (Rischling) Schultz.

Frank was very involved in 4H in his youth. He won grand champion at the State Fair with his dairy cows, pigs, and wheat judging. He enjoyed the showmanship of competition and had an immense love for all animals. Frank graduated from Milligan High School in 1965. He went on to further his education at the Technical School of Agriculture in Curtis, NE. In 1968, he joined the Army where he was stationed in Germany and Fort Riley, KS. After serving in the Army, he started his employment with the Department of Roads - Bridge Department. He retired after 40 years of service. In 1975, Frank married Lucille Lockhorn. From this union, two children were born. Frank was a member of the Cornhusker Ski Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to the polka shows, and working at the farm near Milligan.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; son, Mark and daughter, Sherry (Mark Colling); three grandchildren: Nathan (Allyson), Andrew, and Hannah; along with cherished in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Edward and Leona Lockhorn; brother-in-law, Myron Hamouz; and dearly loved dogs, Ginger and Brooke.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 10 a.m., at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials designated to the American Legion Post #240. May leave condolences at lincolnfh.com

Enjoyed working with Frank we where in different divisions at NDOR but interacted regularly on project planning and plan development. I always thought Frank had a dry witt but always funny when he told stories.
