Reverend John Changkuoth Deang Ba, MdIV
December 25, 1974 – March 27, 2024
On the evening of March 27, 2024, Reverend John Changkuoth Deang, age 49, passed on peacefully at UNMC Nebraska Medicine, Bellevue, NE. He was comforted by his family near and far, ending a yearlong courageous battle with liver cancer.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Simon Deng Kier; and mother, Nyamach Ruon; and his older brother, Peter Pal Deang. He is survived by his lovely wife, Gnakate (Martha) Diat; and four beautiful children: Nyaliep (Grace), Goykuoth (GoyGoy), Rebecca and Simon; and ten of the eleven siblings.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 12:00 to 8:00 PM, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home's 90th Street Chapel. Funeral Service on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 9:00 AM, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 11615 I St, Omaha, NE, 68137, with visitation one hour prior.
