John Evasco 89, Lincoln, died Friday (3/7/08). Born Indiana Harbor, Ind. on February 5, 1919 to Paul & Vita Evasco. U.S. Army Veteran. Lifelong farmer. Avid cattleman, horseman and outdoorsman. Former employee Goodyear and Burlington Northern Railroad. Member of Sesostris Shrine.
Survived by: son, John Sherwood Evasco, Lincoln; son & daughter-in-law, David & Kathleen Evasco, Lincoln; son, G. Nicholas Evasco, Lincoln; daughter, Susan Evasco, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son & daughter-in-law, Curtis & Karen Evasco, Lincoln; son & daughter-in-law, Guy & Rebecca Evasco, Columbus; daughter, Sonya Evasco, Holland, Neb.; son, Daniel Evasco, Papillion; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Nick Evasco, Seattle, Wash. Preceded in death by wife, Ruth Evasco; daughter, Rebecca Ruth.
Services 12:30 p.m. Tuesday (3/11/08) at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street. Visitation Monday (3/10/08) 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at funeral home. Interment Lincoln Memorial Park. Memorials: John Evasco and Ruth Willsie Evasco Memorial Scholarship. Online condolences www.lincolnfh.com

Danny,
I'm sorry for your loss. Your Dad was always a larger than life figure for me. I admired all the stories of him as a Soldier and Hunter. I shot MY first deer with the rifle he shot all of his game with. And the moment was not lost on me. I'm proud to have known him and I'm saddened by his passing.
