Uncle John, I miss you so much!!! You always had that hug that just seemed to take away all the pain and sadness in everyone's lives. I am so glad that I got the chance to be there at Christmas at Emily's when you and my dad were telling stories about when you two were kids. It was great to sit there and see the both of you laugh and everyone else laughing until we were crying. Those are the memories that I will keep with me for the rest of my life. I will always keep Ian in my prayers, he is one lucky kid to have a dad like you. Please tell my mom I love her and I miss her, we all miss her and grandma and grandpa. Have fun playing cards with them all!!! I will miss you!!! Ian is ALWAYS welcome to come out to my dads house and ride horses and run thru the sprinkler with Cole. You will be missed!! I Love You!! Uncle John,
You have always been the most loving teddy bear we could ask for. You have created a lot of memories. Whether its been riding go carts or mini bikes, enjoying the 4th of July party, or just hanging out with you. God has placed you in a great place. Tell mom, grandma and grandpa I said hi. I will miss you and will never forget your loving heart.
Love Always

There was a lot of memories with this man. The friends & family too. Everyone loved being with him & said how much he treated you like gold. He did to everyone. Helping you with auto repairs & not asking any re-payment. Dinner or a night out for pool was just fine. His family is always in my memories as well & will be for my lifetime. He never got to meet my wife or kids & that bothered me still today. Thanks John of all the great times & the good friends you shared as well. All of us will be thinking of you for the rest of our lives. Be good. Leo (Leonard)

John was my best friend and the sweetest BIG brother ever. I had to share a story with everyone about the time our Mom took John and I one Saturday to get new bed spreads at Pamida. They were bright colored with all the Charlie Brown characters. We went to bed that night and it began to storm. I ran into John's room and he thought of an idea to put a green ball for my head and a pillow for my body. So our Mom would think I was in my bed when she checked in on me. That night I watched Creature Feature with John in his room and a big crack of lightening hit. We heard our Mom go into my room to check on me. She said,"Lisa honey it's Ok, God and the angels are just up in heaven re-arranging the furniture." We were laughing so hard that our Mom heard us and she had to laugh when she discovered the green ball. I still see her laughing and hearing my Dad laughing in the living room. We had the best times together and I will always think of you when it storms. Love You Always, Lisa Marie (Worm)

I am so sorry to have not heard sooner that God had called you home. I got your message wishing me a Merry Christmas, which is still on my phone! I am so thankful you stopped by a few months ago and we got to spend time talking about the old times and where our lives had taken us. You were my big brother and I loved you dearly. I wish we would have had more time to get together. The fun we had on O street and as friends will forever be in my heart and remind me of wonderful high school memories. We laughed so hard reminiscing of my 16th birthday when your Mom made me that red velvet cake! You had such a wonderful soul, you were always there for me. I will miss you terribly. Give one of those great big bear hugs to my grandson for me.
Love you always

I am sorry to read of John's passing. I remember your family from when you were in St.Paul. I was a classmate of Donna's and remember Ellen. John would have been about the same age as my brother Tim.
Donna if you have time, it would be great to hear from you.

I worked across from John for two years in the Surplus Center. We talked every day, and I got to know him very well. He was one of a kind, with the biggest heart I've ever known, and his love for Ian was without bounds. He will be fondly remembered and missed. Rest now, friend.

John walling: my friend, my brother. There isn’t enough paper in the world to describe john and the fun that I had with him. To sum John up in one word, laughter, where ever John was the laughter just followed. His kind heart was only a reflection of his family, I remember the many times over at the Wailing’s home growing up, full of love and home cooking, in which his mother never let you leave hungry. We often talked about writing a book about our adventures together and thought it would be a best seller, I think it would’ve been. If there is such a thing as soul mate as friend, he was mine.
Love him and will miss him.

John was a person who would always lend you a helping hand ,or just sit a have a great chat with you. I met John while working with him at the Surplus center. We shared some laughs and tears together as we both lost parents while working there. John was always giving my children money to go buy ice cream when they were little.I swear he had a heart that was as big as he was. I am sorry you are gone big fella, enjoy your reunion with your family in heaven, may god always be with you friend .

Through our teenage years, John and I shared the love for small engines, minibikes, slot cars and just hanging out. I can remember the art murals in his basement, listening to loud music, and one short but wild ride in a '68' GTO. John will be missed but not forgotten. God is looking over him now. Both will bless us all with fond memories of days gone by. I was blessed to have a friend like John.

To the Walling Family
We are so sorry at the lost of John. He was such a wonderful big hearted guy. We have many great memories of him thru the years. I always thought of him as a big teddy bear. But truly the only thing that was big of him was his heart. Our prayers go out to all of you in your time of sorrow. He will never be forgotten.
