Katherine Lekai Obituary

Katherine Lekai 91 years of age, formerly of Lincoln, died Saturday, 4/18/09 in St. Louis, Mo. Member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Former board member of Salt Creek Association.
Survivors: Sisters-in-law, Katherine E. Lekai, and Zona Lekai both of Lincoln; Brother-in-law, Dean Oswald of Lincoln; Nieces, Christy Dallmann & husband Jerry of Denver, Colo., Kathy Stinehagen & husband Scott, and Melodee Saunders & husband Dave, both of St. Louis, Mo., Nancy Jervey, Gloria Lekai, Diane Schneider, and Gail Lekai all of Lincoln. Nephews, Alex Lekai III & wife Linda, and Larry Lekai both of Lincoln, and Rich Morgan & wife Lynn of Topeka, Kan. Several great nieces & great nephews. Several great great nieces & great great nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, & four sisters.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, 4/23/09 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2001 South 11th Street. Pastor Jeff Bloom. Entombment: Wyuka Cemetery. Memorials to church. Visitation with family: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday (4/22/09) at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street.

My sympathies to your family. For many years Katherine was an active member in the South Salt Creek Neighborhood association. Together we improved our neighborhood and made a number of friends in the process. Katherine was a part of the group who made a difference.
