Evelyn Fosbry was my music teacher at College View High School. I graduated in 1951 and have lived in the Lincoln area since that time. The students of CVHS appreciated the gifts of music appreciation and

participation she shared with us. To her family, please know that she was appreciated and will always be remembered with respect by her former students. It was a pleasure to have known her.

To the family of Evelyn Fosbury:

I was in the fourth grade in the Arnold (NE) public schools in September of 1939 when we had a brand new music teacher! Miss Fosbury. She had graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan that spring, and this was her first teaching job. She taught in Arnold for three years, then went on to a better paying job, but those of us in her classes never forgot her.

Years later, my father-in-law, Herbert Young, mentioned that he had the creamery in Clarks, NE for a year or so. When I told him of Evelyn Fosbury, he said "Oh, my! I used to baby sit for her!" Small world. She sang in the Saint Paul choir for years. We were both regular at church, and we enjoyed visiting on Sunday mornings. I often took her home from church activities. She made a great impression on many youth and adults in Arnold and Lincoln!

I met Evelyn about 20 years ago when she was giving piano lessons to my sister. During that time she expressed that she needed someone to help her with yard work/mowing. I was asked and was more than happy to earn some extra money and help a very nice person out at the same time. Later Evelyn even let me store my mower next to her car in her garage so I wouldn't have to push it the 6-7 blocks from my parents house. My deepest condolences go out to the family, she was truly a warmhearted and giving person.

I met Miss Fosbury 25+ years ago, when I took piano lessons from her. She was my neighbor, and I walked the two blocks to her house each week and paid $3.50 for a half-hour lesson. (What a bargain!) I moved to Denver and started my family, and we enjoyed several visits with Miss Fosbury when we were in Lincoln. My children enjoyed meeting her, and I think Miss Fosbury sure liked having them come visit.

I offer my condolences to her family and friends who read this.

We knew Evelyn as a wonderful piano teacher to our daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Carver. Rebecca now lives in Denver, CO. She was home for Christmas and we had the privilege of visiting Evelyn at The Monarch at that time. We rejoice with you as you celebrate peace and comfort for Evelyn as she enters eternity. We also want to express our sympathy to you during your time of mourning.

Hello to the family of Evelyn Fosbury and my sympathy.

I was a student of Miss Fosburys at College View High School in 1950-1952. My sister and I were in her music classes there. She helped us in singing duets and many concerts. I shall always remember her as one of my favorite of teachers. I will always regret that I was unable to go to lunch with her when she called me while she was at the Van Dorn Villa.

She will always be a warm memory of mine. Hugs, Alice Pike Vosika
