Mary Kathleen Perrin McGowan
September 10, 1938 - November 14, 2021
Mary Kathleen Perrin McGowan was born in Cherokee, Iowa, on September 10, 1938. She passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on November 14, 2021, while at Legacy Retirement Communities, Lincoln, Nebraska. Bob and Kathi lived most of their married life in Alta, Iowa. In 1982, they purchased a motel in Destin, Florida. The move and change in environment was life changing and very happy.
After Bob's passing, Kathi was surrounded by many snowbirds and relatives who came to visit each winter at the motel. Included were long-time special friends June Assmann and Joyce Griener. A card game was always in play with Gram. The Hand-and-Foot games were epic and usually loud. Kathi loved her time in Florida with trips to Biloxi casinos and fish fries with family and friends.
Kathi moved to Legacy Retirement Communities in 2018. As always, she quickly made many friends among the staff and residents. She enjoyed many outings and was definitely well known within her new community.
Kathi was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and son Kory. She is survived by her daughter Maridell McCarty and family, son Kyle McGowan and family, daughter Molly Tietgen and family as well as Kory's family.
The family wishes to thank the Legacy Community for their quality care and atmosphere.
Services will be held Saturday 12-11-21 at 2:00 p.m. at Butherus Maser & Love funeral home, 4040 A Street. Condolences can be left at bmlfh.com
