Matthew (Matt) James Robertson
January 12, 1992 - June 6, 2022
Matthew (Matt) James Robertson, of Islip, New York, passed away after a brief illness at the age of 30 on June 6, 2022 in Mineola, New York. Matt was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 12, 1992 to Tom and Cathy Robertson. He graduated from Lincoln Southwest High School (2010) and from Morningside College, Sioux City, Iowa (2014) where he was a member of the football team. He worked for H and A Media, AAA Northeast and most recently as an Account Strategist at Criteo in New York, New York. Matt married the love of his life, Graziella (Grace) Fragale, on September 5, 2021 in Bronx, New York.
He is survived by his wife Grace; their baby due in July; parents Tom and Cathy Robertson, Lincoln; brother Scott (Jenna) Robertson, nephew William and niece Blaire, Milton, Ontario Canada; and grandmother Patsy Brewer, Columbia, South Carolina. Matt is also survived by his uncles and aunts: Tim (Julie) Robertson, Durango, Colorado; Steve (Teresa) Robertson, Beatrice, Nebraska; Teresa (Jim) Lamb, Missouri City, Texas; Ted (Sarah) Brewer, Lexington, South Carolina; and Amy Neal, Columbia, South Carolina. Matt is also survived by cousins Eric (Alli) Lamb, Aaron (Tiffany) Robertson, Kyle Robertson, Stacie (Brian) Jung, Kelly Lamb, Michelle (Alex) Alonso, Haley Neal, and Burton Brewer. Upon his marriage to Grace, Matt was lovingly welcomed into the extended Peter and Cristina Fragale family. Matt is preceded in death by grandparents, Jesse and Mary Jane Robertson and Ted Brewer.
Friends and family visitation will be Sunday June 12 from 4-8pm at John Dormi & Sons Funeral Home, Bronx, New York. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday June 13 at 11am at St. Clare's Church, Bronx, New York. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, New York. I had the pleasure of teaching Matt fourth grade at Humann Elementary School. I remember him as a student who worked hard in the classroom and played hard on the playground. Matt was well liked and respected by students and staff alike. I am heart broken to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with the family!
