Norma Jean Burklund of Clay Center, NE, was born May 10, 1942 to Fred and Mabel Ockinga. She died November 17, 2021, the day after her 62nd wedding anniversary, from Covid-19. She was a loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband John R. Burklund, children Laura (David) Mussman of Omaha, Kevin (Monica) of Lincoln, Heidi of Lincoln, Aaron (Irene) of Papillion, Grandchildren Ian, Ruby, Grace and Noah Mussman, Eva and Eli Burklund, Dara (CJ) Wells, Anne (Mike) Furasek, and 6 great-grandchildren. Sister Jeanine Lovgren of Hastings, Vic (Nicki) Ockinga of Hastings and Gordon (Marge) Ockinga of Grand Island, in-laws Glenda Ritterbush of Sheridan, WY, Elsie Burklund of Omaha, and Marilyn Burklund of Lincoln, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation Tuesday, November 23 from 5-8pm at McLaughlin Funeral Home in Clay Center. Funeral Wednesday at 2pm at Zion Lutheran Church in Clay Center. Masks provided and required. We are very sorry to hear that Norma has passed away. She was beautiful, pretty and a lovely smile.
She was a wonderful mother, always proud of her talented children. Norma was always kind.
