Norma Nichelson Obituary

Norma Jane Nichelson

October 27, 1924 - October 2, 2025

Norma Jane (Kasper) Nichelson, 100, of Lincoln, Neb., passed away October 2, 2025. She was born October 27, 1924, near Prague, Neb., to James and Louisa (Petrus) Kasper. On February 14, 1949, she married Charles D. Nichelson, and together they raised their son, Gary.

Norma worked as a bookkeeper for the businesses she and Charles owned, including rental properties and a liquor store. Known for her accuracy "to the penny", she impressed even her CPA. She enjoyed travel, with trips across the U.S. and abroad to Iceland and the Czech Republic. She lived independently well into her later years, enjoying the companionship of her cat, Missy, and daily visits from her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; sister, Evelyn Hindmarsh; and brother, James Kasper. Survivors include her son, Gary Nichelson, and daughter-in-law, Lorrie Nichelson.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Wyuka Cemetery, 3600 "O" Street, Lincoln, NE 68510. Memorials may be made to The Cat House in Lincoln.
