Patrick D. Langan
December 3, 2020
Patrick D. Langan passed away on Thursday, December 3rd in his home surrounded by his wife and children. He was born October 16, 1957 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Billy J. and Nadine A. (James) Langan. Pat worked for the State of Nebraska for many years in environmental quality and economic development. He was semi-retired and worked as a part-time bus driver for Lincoln Public Schools through May of 2020.
Pat valued family, faith and friends, with faith coming first. He was very active in his church, Life Tabernacle in Lincoln. Pat was a compassionate person who enjoyed ministering to others in need. Even when he was a starving college student, he sponsored a child from a Third World country and continued to sponsor her and write to her into adulthood. Pat enjoyed teaching Sunday School and brought much joy and humor with his lessons. He did prison ministry for years and mentored a refugee family.
He was always so interested in family history and took the time to put together numerous historical family photo albums. He kept everyone informed regarding family events. He loved family, especially his wife of 29 years and his two daughters Bree and Alecia. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and enjoyed being in nature. He was very witty and had a dry sense of humor that made everybody laugh.
Pat was always taking on projects around the house, he built a treehouse and zipline for the girls, he enjoyed working with his hands and designing and building projects himself. Pat would want us to celebrate his life. People remember many Fourth of July's at his house by Holmes Lake and the epic water fights that ensued. He was a caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife Karen, his daughters Alecia Heaps (Nick) and Breanna Stanley (Bryan), mother, Nadine Langan and siblings; Jamie Conley, Beth Newton (Dave), Scott Langan (Angela), Jody Kreikemeier and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Billy Langan and brother, Timothy Langan.
There will be a small family funeral next week and a celebration of life at a future date. Memorials to the family for a later designation in care of Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 O Street, Lincoln, 68510. Online condolences may be left at wyuka.com

While my heart hurts because a friend is no longer here. I know the Lord rejoices to have one of His own with Him. Pat and I would text about the Huskers game and he usually had the right insight of how it would go. He was a witty man with a sensitivity of God´s Spirit in him. Peace with Jesus my friend.

Pat was a good man that I considered a friend. I lost touch with him and his family for a while, but never forgot them. I know Pat has gone to be with the Lord.

I knew Pat when we both worked for the State of Nebraska in different agencies. He had a wondeful dry sense of humor but most of all was sincerely and completely devoted to his wife Karen and his two young (at that time) daughters. I know he will be missed. My condolences.

Pat was my Sunday school teacher when I was a teen. He made it exciting and fun. I ran into him as an adult a couple years ago, and had lunch one day. He was just as kind, and funny as he was when I was a teen. I am saddened of his passing, and will keep Karen and their children in my prayers.

I am sorry to read of Pat´s passing. I remember him in high school as a kind person with a ready smile. It seems kindness was his life story. My condolences to the family. (I was a classmate and friend of Beth´s.)
