Phyllis Elaine Chambers, 90, of Lincoln passed away December 2, 2023. Born November 21, 1933, in Creighton, NE to Nathen and Edna (Hansen) Forbes.
Phyllis retired in 1995, after 40 years of teaching with 27 of those years with the Lincoln Public Schools. She was a member of the Bethany Women's Club, Holiday Rambler Club, and the Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed camping and traveling.
Family members include her son Jeff (Maureen) Chambers; grandchildren Katherine, Bradley, and Zachery Chambers; great-grandchildren Kyler, Blake, and Everly; siblings Marva Jane (Farley), Larry (Nancy) and Linda Points. Preceded in death by her parents and husband RueDean of 65 years.
Funeral service: 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 12, 2023, Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 'O' Street. Interment will be at 1:00 PM in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation with family present from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, December 11, 2023, at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel.

Mrs. Chambers was my 4th grade teacher at Clinton School. She was a caring and inspiring teacher who cared about her teachers and helped us all be better people. Thanks for all she did as a teacher. I wish her family comfort in knowing that she left an enduring impact on her students.
