Rosa Alzada Arnold

Rosa Alzada Arnold 90, Lincoln, died Thursday (11/06/08). Rosa, daughter of Boyd Thomas and Florence May (Singleton) Lehr, was born July 20, 1918, on a farm near Rich Hill, Mo. On March 7, 1934, she was united in marriage to Paul Everett Arnold and they commenced the first 30 years of their 62 year marriage on a farm in Chase Co. near Lamar, Neb. In 1964, they bought a ranch/dairy farm near Neligh where they lived until 1973 when they retired to an acreage west of Hallam. In 1995, they moved to Lincoln.
Rosa, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, was a hardworking, farm wife who loved the outdoors and was well known by neighbors and friends for her vegetable gardens and beautiful flowers. She was a talented seamstress and her true passion was quilt-making. Each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren is the proud owner of one or more of her beautiful, handmade quilts.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Gary Hergenrader, Lincoln; Mildred and Pat Wright, Gering; son and daughter-in-law, Claude & Carol Arnold, Ogallala; brothers, Boyd Lehr, Hamilton, Ill.; Glen Lehr, Harvard, Ill.; sister,Mary Frances Kissinger, Carthage, ll.; grandchildren and spouses, Justin and Connie Wright, Waverly; Dr. Alan Hergenrader, Lincoln; Drs. Anne and Rick Williamson, Coralville, Iowa; Sonia and Tom Sherman, Ashland; Tim and Cheryl Arnold, North Platte; Chris and Mark Laverty, Castle Rock, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Trevor and Mikah Wright; Allison, Alexandra, Kipp, and Cameron Hergenrader; Hannah Hurlbert; Taylor and Stefanie Sherman; Alisha and Tyler Arnold; Briana and Morgan Laverty; and step-great-grandson, Colby Williamson. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; brothers, Aubrey Edgar; Charles and Samuel (infant); and Robert (infant); sisters, Maggie May; and Louise.
Services: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday (11/11/08), Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th St., Lincoln. Visitation: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday with family greeting friends from 6:30 - 8 p.m. Interment: Lincoln Memorial Park.
