Sheri DeFord 44, Charleston, S.C., formerly of Lincoln, died Sunday (5/31/09) in Charleston. Born June 16, 1964 in Lincoln to Larry and Doris DeFord. Graduate of Lincoln East High School, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Masters Degree from University of Missouri at Columbia. Moved to Charleston in 1990. Social worker, realtor, small business owner. Very active in Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue Resource.
Survived by: parents, Larry & Doris DeFord; brother & sister-in-law, Bruce and Mariah DeFord, Lincoln; niece and nephew, Olivia & John DeFord, Lincoln; many aunts & uncles in Nebraska; boyfriend, Julian "Bud" Lipscomb, Charleston; special friends, Dr. Kathryn "Kit" Hargrove and Kate Hargrove, Charleston; and a large circle of friends in Charleston too numerous to mention.
Memorial Service 11 a.m. Monday (7/6/09) at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street. Burial: Lincoln Memorial Park. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, donations to Low Country Golden Retriever Rescue Resource can be sent in care of the family; or to the Lincoln Sunken Garden.
