Shirley Nadyne Bauer, age 97, of Lincoln, Neb. passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. She was born on May 16, 1927, in Clifton, Kan. to Lester and Lois Pentico.
Shirley lived in Agenda, Kan. until 1944, when she moved to Lincoln for her education. She married Richard F. Bauer, who she met while working at Lincoln Telephone Company. They were married for fifty-two years before his passing. She belonged to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, charter member of Nebraska P.E.O., Eastern Star #271, Daughters of the Nile #66 Naphis Temple, Shrine Widows, Legion Auxiliary, and was a 44-year Bryan Hospital volunteer.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Robert Ness of Kearney, Neb.; granddaughter, Annie (Brandon) Johnson of Austin, Texas; great-grandson, Bergen Johnson; nieces and nephews; along with many cherished friends. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lois Pentico; husband, Richard "Dick" Bauer; infant son, Stephen; and brother, Roger Pentico.
Funeral service Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., Lincoln, NE 68512 with visitation on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at funeral home. Livestreaming of Service available at www.lincolnfh.com. Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials are designated to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
