I first met Terrence through the Family Dance Project. A tall lanky man dancing with his willowy dark haired child. He danced like no one was watching and I know he lived his life with abandon.

He will be missed. My thoughts are with his family and friends as we all grieve the death of such a free spirit.

Dear Ruth, Nedra, and family,
Terry was singulary unique in my experience and I had the utmost admiration for his entrepreneurial imagination and respect for the planet and his fellow travelers on it. I looked forward to our occasional meetings at Dion's sales. We could and should all learn and live a bit more by his example of dignified individualism and "greenness". I will miss him but you and I know that he is among us. Comfort to you in that.

Terrence’s passion for starting new business ventures was absolutely contagious. His love of collaboration led he and I to create Dirt Cheap Kansas City (later Recycled Sounds). As my business partner he helped me begin one of Kansas City’s epicenters for the music scene and local political activism. No one on the planet could price records faster than Terrence Moore! Voted best music store in Kansas City for years running, Terrence’s stamp of innovation, sense of community, and commitment to local and independent music were all over it. My husband Kurt and I will always be thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Terrence. As a friend, Terrence’s gentle presence, creative and playful spirit, and inquisitive nature have and always will be a source of inspiration. Thank you, Terrence

May you find strength during this time and realize that Terrence touched many lives.

I met Terrence when I worked with Nedra (in the early 90's) and visited with him many a time when he was shopping the KZUM Music and Book Sale. Before relocating to Missouri, I was lucky enough to work with Terrence for a short time at KZUM and know he had a great heart and dedication to the causes he loved so much.

I hope that all of you find peace and comfort.

I will always remember Terrence as a kind soul I was always glad to bump into. Of course, like many of his friends, I first met him as one of the "punk" kids that hung out at Dirt Cheap. Then later got to know him better at South East highschool where he volunteered his time to Kirsten VanDervoort in her advanced lit. class. I was her T.A. It was an exciting time for him because he had just adopted his daughter. We corresponded over the years in many ways, the most recent, him saying KZUM needed some extra help. So I showed up and am still there. I am thankful I knew him and this town will definately miss him, though his presence will definately linger...he helped to create a lot of what Lincoln is today.

I have thought about you the last 2 days. It is about right now that you would show up at the front door ready to sit down on the front porch to drink a gin and tonic (you found out that you really like them).

My history with you goes back to the time of the Glass Onion, it was there that I met you and then started helping you with inventory.
Later I worked for you full time, then we both went our seperate ways. Years later I see you at Ideal, and you want to have a Dirt Cheap reunion. Obviously there was a reason, just didn't think it would be that you wouldn't be on the planet 2 years later.

Learning from you was always a joy, not to mention frustrating. I, like others, will miss that along with your smile, laugh, and running commentary of the worlds issues.

You are free now, to travel the spiritual realm that you have prepared for all these years. I wish I could hear your commentary now, but in time my friend, in time.

Love.........M

I have fond memories of weekend album buying trips to Dirt Cheap when I was in high school. I remember seeing Terry by the used LP's and him showing me all the great albums that I should have in my collection. I learned even more about music and about avant garde music when I went to work at Dirt Cheap after high school. Thanks Terry!

As a neighbor of the Moore family in the early 60's I remember Terry, "the older brother" who obviously left an impression on me, because I have not forgotten him or the Moore family. Loved Dirt Cheap record store..what a thrill it was to have browsed there as a young teenager. I am happy to have made it to the Loft in February to reconnect with Terry, Kathy, and Ruth...so sorry to have missed Nedra....rest in peace, Terry.
