Timothy Hier

1949 - 2025

Timothy Joseph Hier, age 76, of Eads, Colo., passed away December 13, 2025. Tim was born on November 1, 1949, in Lincoln to Dorlen and Frances (Juricek) Hier, and grew up on a farm near Sterling, Neb. Tim graduated from Sterling Public High School where he excelled academically and in sports. Tim married his life-long love, Lonnie (Yolanda Chiles) in 1970. In 2005, he retired from the United States Post Office after 35 years. Tim later worked as a realtor, and for State Farm Insurance. Tim served six years in the Nebraska National Guard. Tim and Lonnie shared a love for dogs, especially dachshunds. They moved to Littleton, Colo. in 1998, and retired to Eads, where they developed many friendships.

Tim is survived by sons, Christopher (Christina) Hier and Jeremy (Amanda Páez) Hier, both of Lincoln; grandchildren, Tyler, Elijah, Easton, Alysha (fiancé, Ethan Glazebrook), and Austin Hier, and Katie (Cody) Cadwallader; brothers, Dan (Sara) Hier of Cortland, Mark Hier of Martell, Paul Hier (friend, Judi Palma) of Anchorage, Alaska; sister-in-law, Jill Hier of Lincoln; sisters, Kathy (Carroll) Jolly of Omaha, Sue Weyers (friend Ben House) of Des Moines, Iowa, Marti (Dan) Thomson of Palmyra, and Elizabeth (Dennis) Rowe of Pleasant Dale; brother-in-law, Jim (Kris) Chiles of Lincoln; and by a multitude of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers, John and Skeet Hier, and sisters-in-law, JoAnn and Catherine Hier. Celebration of Life pending for April in Sterling, Neb.
