Wayne Lynn Venter

Wayne Lynn Venter passed away on June 29, 2024, at the age of 75, in Lincoln, NE. Born on October 20, 1948, in Worthington, MN, Wayne grew into a remarkable man whose life was characterized by his profound dedication to his family and an exemplary work ethic.
Wayne graduated from Hastings High School before earning degrees in criminal justice and mathematics from the University of Nebraska Omaha. He built a successful career in agri-marketing, where he worked as a general operations manager until his retirement.
Wayne's love for his family was immense. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen Venter; his daughter, Michelle Venter; and his son, MAJ Scott Venter, USA. He was a proud father-in-law to Todd Sohayda and Daniela Kessler. His siblings, Dean Venter, Diane Mullen, and Jackie Champoux (Ed) will also hold his memory dear. Wayne was a cherished grandfather to Nora Schlegel, Hannah Venter, Elliot Schlegel, and Isaac Schlegel. The Nolte Family also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Venter and Thelma Venter, and his brother, Lee Venter.
Wayne was passionate about sports cars, a hobby that brought him great joy. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. These values were not only evident in his professional life but were also deeply instilled in his children and grandchildren.
A private burial was held on July 2, 2024, in Hastings, NE, where Wayne was laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be directed to them, honoring Wayne's memory.
Wayne's unwavering love and the wisdom he imparted will forever resonate with those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire and guide his family.
