Clifford Mico Obituary

KENOSHA - Clifford James Mico, a man who lived life by his motto, "Have Fun and Always Look Forward," died on Monday, November 16, 2009, at Aurora Medical Center at the age of 94. Born on August 16, 1915, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Helen (Carney) Mico. He attended local schools. From July 21, 1941, until November 25, 1945, he honorably served our country in the U.S. Army, having served in Burma and India. Clifford proudly received the American Defense Service and Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon with Two Bronze Battle Stars, Four Overseas Service Bars, One Service Stripe and the Good Conduct Medal. On September 14, 1946, in Union Grove, WI, he was united in marriage to Edna Menarek. They were blessed with 57 years of love and laughter. Edna preceded him in death on March 7, 2003. Clifford was employed as an inspection supervisor with AMC/Chrysler. He retired in 1980 after 35 years of service. He also operated dairy farms in Spring Prairie and Somers. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Kenosha Moose Lodge #286. Cliff was the oldest member of The Moose Riders Motorcycle Club, and mascot for Coins Women's Volleyball Team. Clifford enjoyed spending time with his family, cruising in his convertible and playing euchre. He was a genuinely caring man that loved to meet people and make new friends. Left to carry on his legacy are his three sons, Jeffrey (Linda) Mico and Mark (Jan) Mico, both of Kenosha, and Ted (Shelly) Mico of Racine; four daughters, Susan (Paul) Hansen of Bristol, Julie (Mark) Baxter, Katy (Bill) Dixon and Connie Brownlee (David Easterday), all of Kenosha; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren with an eighth on the way. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Fred Mico; and a sister, Eugenie Helgert. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 2224 30th Avenue. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at church for the Mass. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 20th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Moose Lodge Breaking of the Circle Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to Dr. Prakash Shah, Dr. Anthony Lo Curto, Dr. Gregory Rocco, Dr. William Kraklow, Dr. Alby Antoo, their associates and staff for the compassionate care given to Clifford and his entire family.
