Daniel Beecher Obituary

BURLINGTON - Daniel R. Beecher, 65, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Burlington on November 11, 1948, he was the son of James E. and Ann (nee Robers) Beecher. He spent his early life in Kansasville, attended Kansasville Graded School and graduated from Burlington High School. He also attended Milwaukee Area Technical College. On December 30, 1988, at Cross Lutheran Church he was united in marriage to Beverly Stratton. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington where they raised their family. Dan was the owner of Plaza Barber Shop in Racine where over the years he acquired generations of dear customers. He was an avid “car guy” with a gift of knowing how things worked. He had countless close friends and one of his greatest gifts was his humble way of helping people. He felt this was what he was meant to do and helped anyone, in any way he could. Dan had an incredible sense of humor and enjoyed life, especially his large adoring family who can’t imagine life without him. Dan is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Amy (Quinn) Obermeyer, Kara (Dan) Bulgrin, Daniel (Amanda) Beecher, Linda (Paul) Canade, Pamela Mather, Theresa Buehler and Jessica (Ravi) Reddy; grandchildren, Jacob, Mason & Logan Bulgrin, Naomi, Danika, Bentley & Paxton Beecher, Jade Mather, Cole & Maya Weinkauf and Priyanka Reddy. He is also survived by his siblings, Ken Beecher, Sandra (Cliff) Oberg and Julie (Rick) Niche along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Art & Lois Stratton; brother-in-law, Phil Quirk and sister-in-law, Susan Beecher. Memorials would be appreciated to: Bladder Cancer Association, Froedtert Cancer Center or Heartland Hospice. The family would like to thank Dr. Ben George and his staff at Froedtert Cancer Center and Heartland Hospice for all their care and compassion during Dan’s illness. Services for Dan will be Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Carolyn Sellers officiating. Dan was more than my barber for more than 30 years, and I would travel from Woodruff just to get my haircut. He will be sadly missed, by a great many people. Keep the shiny side up Danny and I will see you down the road.

So very sad to hear of the passing of "Dan the Barber Man". He gave both of our sons their first haircuts any many more after that . What a delightful and uplifting spirit!
