Evelyn was friends with Art's sisters Lois and Janet, and met him when he came home from the navy, sparking a very quick and long lasting marriage. After many years of living in Racine, Evelyn and Art moved to their dream home on the lake in Birchwood, Wis. After living in Birchwood for 40 years she moved to Parkview Gardens Assisted Living in Racine in November of 2024 where she made many new friends.
Evelyn had an active life with many varied interests, including camping, fishing, leathercrafts, refinishing furniture, antiquing, reading, walking, watching and feeding the birds, and gun shows. In her 80s she won a medal for the Birchwood Bluegill Festival 5k. She loved to go to plays with her family, featuring at least 39 musicals. When she was with children, even up till her 90s, she would always sit on the floor and play with them. Evelyn loved to travel with Cheryl and other family. Her favorite trip was to Niagara Falls.
