Gerald Brooks, 93, of Union Grove, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at his home.
Born in Waterford, Wis. on June 26, 1932, he was the son of Everette and Helen (nee Beck) Brooks. His early life was spent in Waterford, where he graduated from Waterford High School.
He served in the US Navy from September 25, 1950 until being honorably discharged on July 7, 1954.
He served on the USS Boxer CVA 21. In 1972, he was united in marriage to Rosemarie Tyler. Following marriage, they made Union Grove their home, of which he was a resident for 30 years.
Jerry worked as a truck driver and mechanic and loved to go fishing.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Rosemarie; son, Andrew Brooks; step-children, Thomas (Patty) Erd, Daniel Erd, Kathryn Erd, Robert W. Erd, Jr., Jon Erd, Linda (Dave) Buri and Sandra (Dan) Sommer; grandchildren, Christopher Brooks, Elizabeth (Al) Schraeder, Nickolas (Jessica), Joeseph, Faith Brooks and Justin Brooks; step-grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Ebert, Alexandria Erd, Kristina (Wil) Wirkus, Garrett Buri, Patrick A. Uecke, Jr., Daniel A. Erd, Michelle Erd, Michael Erd, Arthur (Leah) Sommer and Allison (Danny) Donovan; and great-grandchildren, Addison Ebert, Mason Ebert, Christopher Pfeiffer, Eli Wirkus, Claira Wirkus, Adrian Erd and Wes Wirkus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Ronald Brooks and sisters, Mary (Denny) Gerber and Kathy (Ellie) Mull.
A Burial Service for Jerry with full military honors will take place on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St., Union Grove, Wis.
