Gregory Jorgensen Obituary

Gregory R. Jorgensen

Dec. 2, 1973 – Feb. 17, 2022

RACINE, WI - Gregory Raymond Jorgensen, age 48, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully in his sleep, on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

Greg was born in Racine on December 2, 1973 to the late Raymond and Patricia (nee Boyd) Jorgensen. He was a graduate of Washington Park High School. He faithfully served our country with the United States Army 82nd Airborne. A talented graphic designer, he was employed with several local companies until his eyesight started failing with macular degeneration.

Among his interests, Greg was quite the pool player; extreme sports fan – Packers, Brewers, Badgers and boxing; had a diverse taste in music; and was always up for a good game of bags, trivia, dominoes, cribbage or poker. Above all, Greg loved spending time with all of his family and extensive circle of friends.

Greg is survived by his sisters: Terry (Rich) Kropp, Wendy Ritacco and Patty Jorgensen; nephews and nieces: Adam (Amelia) Kropp, Eric (Molly) Kropp; Tony, Raymond and Vinny Ritacco; and Casey (Natalie) Madden; loving girlfriend, Cheri Paulick; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ray and Pat Jorgensen; and brother-in-life, Dave Ritacco; all three of whom Greg missed dearly.

Services celebrating Greg's life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. Military honors will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Private entombment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. In memory of Greg, offer a kind deed to someone in need.

I have fond memories of my childhood in Racine, with Greg by my side as a childhood playmate, along with Mike, Karl, Amy, Carrie, Amy, Ralph, Corinna, Erich and Christopher. We raced our bikes around the neighborhood, and played Ghost In The Graveyard and Kick The Can long into the evenings. Weekend movie sleepovers watching Svengoolie were a regular occurrence and the foundation of an iconic 70s and 80s childhood. Greg was in the center of it all with his quick wit and great sense of humor. Miss you much, brother Greg.

Patty, Casey and family I am truly sorry for your loss. I use to watch Casey on Marquette st. My heart goes out to you knowing pain that you feel. I pray memories flood your mind and bring a smile to your faces. Hugs and prayers to all of you.

Your parents & Greg were neighbors of ours on Echo Ln.
I´m so sorry to see that Greg has passed away. Your family was always so nice to us & I got to know them better after my husband passed away. Gone too soon but much loved.
