Janice Yousef Obituary

Janice Marie Yousef

Aug. 14, 1957 – Aug. 3, 2024

EGYPT - Janice Marie Yousef (nee Pier), 66, formerly of Union Grove, passed away August 3, 2024, at her home in Egypt. She was born August 14, 1957, to William and Beverley (nee Hazel) Pier in Racine, WI. Janice graduated from William Horlick High School Class of 1975. After school she went to work for JI Case Corporation and later worked for many years with, WE Energies which she retired from as a member of the American Society of Power Engineers. As a young woman she studied her Christian religion with The Way Ministries. Janice was married to Walter Antongiorgi for six years and together they raised their beloved daughter, Elissa Maria.

Janice's favorite thing to do was gardening and she loved spending time outdoors. She lived for swimming. She was very creative and enjoyed hobbies such as beading, crocheting and other crafts. Her love of purple was a part of her and made her "Purple Grandma." She was also quite a rockhound and shared this interest with her daughter. She enjoyed the time she spent fishing with her sister, Coco. An animal lover, Janice always had an animal companion. By far, the most treasured part of her life was her three grandsons who she always made sure had everything they needed.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Elissa Maria Antongiorgi; grandchildren: Amir, Malakai, and Jordan Hill; former husband, Walter Antongiorgi; siblings: Catherine (Richard) Dowdell, Stephen Pier, Sharon (Al) Hansen, and Colleen Miller; nieces and nephews: Matthew (Panya) Dowdell, Nathan (Dr. Shin Ye) Pier, Thomas (Christina) Pier, Sienna Miller, Lanie Miller and Keelie Miller; aunts: Lynn Wakefield and Joan Pier; and many friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Patrick Pier.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home. Private burial took place in Egypt.

So sorry for the loss of your Mother. One thing that stays in my mind was a picture that Grandma Josie had of you Mom and Dad's wedding picture. They both look stunning, but your mother's hair was so beautiful, perfectly done with the ribbons in it. Your mother was a gorgeous bride. If you have that beautiful picture, I would love to see it. Once again, we're so sorry. Love to you and family. Aunt and Uncle , Aleita and Angel Antongiorgi
