John E. Geisner

RACINE - John E. Geisner, 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints. He was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on March 10, 1919, the son of the late George and Frances (nee: Sorensen) Geisner. John enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp the day after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was honorably discharged as a Tech Sergeant. John was united in marriage to Janet Celiesius on September 8, 1973. He had been a supervisor at Walker Manufacturing for 40 years, retiring in 1983. John loved golfing and had played softball in his younger years. Surviving is his wife, Janet, children, Linda Ketter of Racine, Jacqueline (Thomas) Jensen-Utz of Holmen, WI and Joseph (Kelli Paulich) Jensen of Racine; five grandchildren, Nicole, Charles, Jillian, Nicole and Brooke, two great grandchildren, Devon and Adam; sister, Arabelle Wiegand of Racine; special friends, Dick (Josie) Lettsome and Ted (Patsy) Dobrowolski, with whom he always looked forward to their "Thursday night out" together. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by three brothers, Warren, George and Harold and two sisters, Ruby and Grace. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Holly Anderle officiating, followed by full military honors. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Monday before services from 5 p.m. until service time. John will be laid to rest on Tuesday, 11 a.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park.
