John Kreul Obituary

MD MADISON - John F. Kreul MD, 63, died on Sunday, November 15, 2009, following a long illness. He was born on June 4, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Okla., the third son of Dr. Randolph W. Kreul and Lucille (nee: Schulte) Kreul, who are deceased. He graduated from St. Catherine's High School, Marquette University, Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, and completed a Fellowship in Anesthesiology and Cardiac Anesthesiology at Case Western University Hospitals. He was Emeritus Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at the William S. Middleton Veterans Affairs Hospital, past President of the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Medical Staff, past Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, past President of the Wisconsin Society of Anesthesiologists, and a member of the House of Delegates and Board of Directors of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. In recognition of his lifetime achievements, the University of Wisconsin created the John F. Kreul Endowed Fellowship. He is survived by his wife, Joan of Madison; his son, John (Allison) Kreul; grandsons, Jack and Owen, all of Washington, DC; his daughter, Margaret (James) Peters of Milwaukee; brothers, Randolph (Mary) Kreul of Fond du Lac and The Honorable Richard (Mary Ann) Kreul of Racine; and nieces. Memorials may be made to the John F. Kreul MD Education Fellowship for Anesthesiology, c/o University of Wisconsin Foundation, US Bank Lockbox, P.O. Sorry to hear about the passing of John, I did not know John but I was a patient of his father while I lived in Racine until I moved to Houston, Tx. in 1965 and my parents Joseph and Delores Kaisler used Dr. Kruel staring I believe after WW2 until he retired and moved to Florida.
