Kathryn Bialecki Obituary

EAST DUNDEE, ILL. - Kathryn S. Bialecki, 58, passed away quietly in her sleep on Monday, June 1, 2009, to be with her Savior. Kathy was born in Racine on April 5, 1951, to Daniel and Dorothy (nee: Kobal) Murphy. Kathy was the beloved spouse of Dominic Bialecki, her husband of 38 years and high school sweetheart. Kathy and Dominic have resided in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, Ill. for the last 34 years, the past 14 being in East Dundee, Ill. Kathy's passion was for marriage. Dominic and Kathy were Marriage Mentors to engaged couples at Willowcreek Community Church in South Barrington, Ill. Kathy was tenacious in challenging couples to put God on the throne of their marriages. Kathy's childhood dream was to become a nurse. Kathy had been a Nurse for over 40 years, starting out as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Racine. She continued her education in Illinois, achieving her Registered Nurse Degree plus taking classes in a few specialty areas. Over the years, Kathy had worked for St. Alexius, Hoffman Estates, and her last position being at the Behavioral Health Hospital at St. Alexius. Kathy had also worked at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill. and St. Joseph's in Elgin, Ill. Kathy had worked at a few doctor's offices plus as a Hospice Nurse for Vitas Hospice and Seasons Hospice. Kathy loved serving her patients and their families. She valued her co-workers and was always ready to assist or teach or take on any task. Kathy had the gift of encouragement. When you spent time with Kathy, you felt treasured, listened to, and valued. You left Kathy's presence walking on air. Kathy had a zest for life and an infectious laugh, often imitated by her son, Lucas and daughter, Lisa. Kathy was also a "fashionista." You would always catch her with matching reading glasses, shoes, and purse. Her outfits would bring a smile to everyone she met. Kathy enjoyed nightly candlelit dinners and dancing. Kathy and Dominic enjoyed plays and had memberships at the Lincolnshire Marriott in Lincolnshire, Ill. for over 25 years and also the Next Theater in Evanston, Ill. for over 25 years. Kathy also loved to cook and bake for family and friends. Every holiday was special because of the love Kathy put into her cooking and baking. The best for last. Kathy loved being a wife, super mother, and dynamic grandmother. Lucas and Lisa are the terrific parents they are because of the agape love and example of parenting they received. Kathy was a praying mom and grandma and continued to be until she went "Home." Kathy was an amazing grandma ('Ya Ya' as she was called). She was a down-on-the- floor, love-you-up, kiss- you-up, wipe-your-nose- up, read the same story 25 times and not mind a bit. Kathy's kitchen was open for any request by her five precious grandchildren, Taylor, 16, London, 3-1/2, Leo, 3, Phoebe, 10 months, and Violet, 6 months. Kathy is survived by her best friend and husband, Dominic; daughter, Lisa (Barry) Young and their children, London, Violet, and Taylor Young; son, Lucas (Ellen) Bialecki of MaCungie, Pa. and their children, Leo and Phoebe; brothers, Thomas and Patrick Murphy, both of Clintonville; sister-in- law, Barb Bialecki of Racine; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dave (Sherri) Bialecki of Sturtevant; nieces and nephews; plus great- nieces and great-neph- ews. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Dorothy Murphy. A Celebration of Life and Remembrance will be held at Willowcreek Community Church in the Chapel on Sunday, June 7, 2009, at 4 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Marriage Ministry at Willowcreek Community Church, 67 East Algonquin Road, South Barrington, Ill. 60010.

Dominic, Lucas and Lisa,
I had the pleasure of working with Kathy at Sherman Hospital in Elgin after she left Humana Hospital. She was a caring and loving nurse and a pleasure to work with. Her family and Church were very important to her. Even though I haven't been in touch with her for a number of years, it was still a shock to read her obituary in the Herald. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. May God be with you as you adjust to living without this wonderful woman. She will be missed by many.

Dom, Lisa and Lucas,
Please accept my heatfelt sympathy. I so loved Kathy/your mother as far back as I can remember. She was always so much fun to be around. I can still remember Sophmore Girl's formal and our dinner out at the Hub. It was so funny! I am so glad you two hooked up after that as you were a great couple back then. Kathy will be terriby missed by those still here, but we know that she is in a better place at this time. I will miss her, but thankfully I have great memories. Love and my prayers to all of you. . . Dom and family,
We saddened to her of Kathy's homegoing, but I can tell from her description that you will be together again. Though we met many years ago in Racine (been friends with Dave for 30 years), I can see that you have led a blessed life with a wonderful woman and that is truly a gift from God. Yours in Christ.

Dom,
I was so surprized and saddened by the passing of Kathy. She obviously touched many people, including myself -- if you can believe, I remember my sister and I buying our wonderful golden retriever from Kathy and her mother when I was still in highschool. She was so generous and patient with us -- and to this day I remember her perpetual happiness.
She is certainly a part of the good time memories of my childhood -- as was your family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, Barb and David.

Dominic,

Thank for bringing Kathy into my life. Kathy was the kind of person who made you feel loved and very special to her every time you were in her presence. I will always think of her as a woman of faith who walked the walk. I will never forget her praying for me at a time I didn't know anybody knew I needed prayer. She actually prayed me out of a bad situation. She was very special to so many, but to none more than you. She will always have a special place in my heart and my memories. She was (as you still are) a great testimony to God's love and faithfulness. Remaining in His Grip.

I worked with Kathy several years ago, and found her to be a cheerful and hardworking, dedicated nurse. I loved working with her! I will always remember a funny little malapropism she made one day -- I still laugh every time I think of it. We had gotten an extra nurse for the shift, and Kathy looked at me and said "Well, you can't kick a gifted horse in the mouth!"

I can only begin by saying what an honor to have had Kathy as part of our life and marriage. Kathy and Dom's mentorship from the days of dating my now wife through the following 10 years have been priceless and we will always be grateful for the love, joy and strength provided to us in her example of life. Our hearts are broken and our tears many but someday we will rejoice in eternity and dance together again. Our prayers and love to the Bialecki family.

For a woman I'd never met, Kathy sure had an impact on my life and my marriage. What a wonderful example of "dying well" ... When I'm in Glory, I'm gonna thank her personally.
