Lisa Gage Obituary

RACINE - With her loving family and special friend by her side, Lisa Mae (nee: Lutze) Gage, 44, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 15, 2009, at her home. She fought a brave and determined eight-year battle against triple negative breast cancer. Lisa was born in Racine on September 7, 1964. She attended school in Racine, where she was a lifetime resident. She was the Document Coordinator of Digital Publishing at Ruud Lighting, where she had been employed for the last 14 years. Lisa was a devoted mother and treasured time spent with her family, especially her sisters; camping, game nights, attending school sporting events, scary movie nights, and her Dad's popcorn. She loved being outdoors, planting flowers, feeding the birds, and fishing up North. A very fashionable dresser, Lisa enjoyed shopping, home decorating, antiques, Packer games, "girl's weekends," margaritas and Mexican food, Nickleback concerts, and time spent with good friends. She loved Christmas. Lisa will be forever remembered as a beautiful women with a warm smile, twinkling brown eyes, amd unassuming nature, who in every day life showed a true spirit of love, integrity, dedication, strength, and courage to all she encountered. Left to comfort one another with Lisa's memory are her children, Todd and Eric Gage; parents, Al and Sandy Lutze; sister, Laurie Nievin and her son, Stewart; sister, Lynelle Saunders and her husband, Chris and their children, Alex and AJ; and Lisa's special friend, Keith. Lisa's memory will be cherished by her extended family members, family friends, girlfriends, and co-workers at Ruud Lighting. Lisa was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Aniah Day-Gage. A Memorial service celebrating Lisa's life will be held in the Draeger- Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, July 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. David F. Gehne officiating. A reception will follow. In accordance with Lisa's wishes, cremation will take place. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 9 until 11 a.m. In memory of Lisa, memorials to the "Love For Lisa" Benefit Account, c/o Johnson Bank, have been suggested. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Mike Mullane and his incredible staff, Dr. Stauss and staff at Advanced Pain Management, and Lisa's caring nurses, Barb Pressar and Mary Jensen. My thoughts, prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Lisa Gage. I am sorry for your loss. I knew Lisa during high school. When I think of Lisa I smile with the memories of a beautiful person who had an easy laugh and a great haircut. I am reminded of football games, concerts, lunches at Hardees, the Lutze family van, summer nights at Browns Lake... but mostly a person with a lot of light and laughter.
Please accept my sympathy.
Sincerely,

Cancer cannot cripple LOVE, it actually makes it overflow. Cancer cannot shatter HOPE, it actually clarifies what hope is for. Cancer cannot corrode FAITH, it actually strengthens faiths convictions. Cancer cannot conquer the SPIRIT because courage faces cancers affliction. Lisa, you are my hero, my inspiration. God bless your boys, & your family. Love Sue & Jim Lemire

Dear Laurie,

I am so saddened and shocked to read of Lisa's passing. My heart is aching for you and the rest of your family. Words cannot express my sorrow.

You, for sure, and your sister (I think)were in my German class at Gilmore Jr. High. I often think of the two of you and how close you were back then. (It sounds like that has not changed, which makes her passing even sadder.) I remember standing outside my classroom door during passing time and you standing there, too, waiting for Lisa to pass by to tell her some "delicious" news, mostly likely concerning some boy! It was seeing the two of you together, sharing life with each other, that for the first time in my life, I wished I had had a sister! It was obvious the two of you loved each other and had such great times together! You are very blessed. Treasure your memories!

My deepest, heartfelt sympathies to you and your family,

Nancy Rohner Haddad
