Thomas Sunde

BOERNE, TEXAS - Thomas Lynn Sunde (Tom) age 71 passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 after a courageous fight against cancer. He died at his home in Boerne, Texas with his wife by his side. He leaves his wife of 41 years, Natalie Buesing Sunde, his son Scott Sunde; daughter, Stephanie Sunde Younts and son-in-law Jason Younts; two granddaughters, Ella and Adelynn Younts; his aunt Pearl Leskowicz Mynar; his father and mother in-law Ralph and Patricia Buesing; his brothers-in-law and their wives Robert and Karen Buesing, Mark and Carrie Kools, and Peter and Susan Kools; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Thomas was preceded in death by his father Trygve Sunde; his mother Rose Leskowicz Sunde Neels and step-father Udall Neels. Tom was born on October 6, 1946 in Racine, Wisconsin. He attended St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and Grade School, and St. Catherine’s High School in Racine. He graduated from St. Thomas College in St. Paul, Minnesota with a degree in journalism in 1968. He served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972, primarily as a broadcaster in Thailand during the Vietnam war. Tom worked in corporate communications and healthcare marketing, and retired from the City of Forth Worth as a graphic designer. He enjoyed gardening, singing in his church choir, home improvement projects, cooking, and website development. Tom requested to be cremated. His ashes will be interred at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas in a private family ceremony.
