Unfortunately, I never met Al, but I knew and greatly respected his parents in Milwaukee, where Al's parents and my family were friends for many years. Even when Al and I were both at Stanford in 1964-65, which I learned of in the Reno obituary, our paths never crossed. I read of Al's passing in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and I send my condolences to the family from Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

To know Al was to be his friend and the recipient of fun, kindnesses, and
personal warmth. He had a bubbly sense of humor and a pleasant singing
voice that he also shared with family and friends. He was a loving husband and father. His unique presence will be forever missed.

TO The Peterman Family,
My thoughts and prays are with all of you at this time. I will always remember the New Years Day football games that we watched together, even the Midnight Mass at Christmas time. Those were good times. Please give your mom a hug for me. All my love to all of you at this sad time.
