Al's life was devoted to service. He put God, his country, and others before himself. As a student at Holy Apostles, I appreciated all that Al did for us, but at that age, I was too naive to grasp the true caliber of this man. I am grateful that I had the opportunity as a grown man to shake his hand and thank him for the sacrifices he made for our country and for all he did for us at Holy Apostles. What a legacy his life leaves behind! I am lucky to have known you Al, God Bless.

I’m not sure Al understood what an inspiration he was to others.
What a phenomenal man.

Al was truely a dedicated and loving person. I think of him often (especially his patince) as I work with my own students. He has been an inspiration to me from the first moment I met him. I also think of him when I bring my children to Chuck-E-Cheese although I don't have quite as much fun now as I did back when Al took us. Al, you will be truely missed. God Bless You!

I knew Al from my days as a student at Holy Apostles. I have so many great memories of Al...the bowling league, the reunion at Kuglitches, McDonald's gifts for every student, the Lion's Club corn roast, HA fish fries, and getting flowers from Al on my 16th birthday. He would call me "sweet and sassy" and had a nickname for everyone. He never forgot a name or a face, and I know we will never forget Al.

Stigler Family - Words cannot describe how we will miss Al. He was so good with the children at Holy Apostles - from helping them with their math to keeping them in line in the hallways. I had the pleasure to volunteer with him in the lunchroom. He was a great man with a generous heart.
God Bless you Al!!

Al will always be remembered fondly by those of us whose lives he touched~whether through Holy Apostles, coaching bowling or sharing some laughs at Chumley's Pub. Al was a kind, compassionate man with a heart of gold and a true friend to so many. Our lives are richer for having known this wonderful man! Rest in peace, dear friend.

Al will truely be missed! When I think back to grade school at Holy Apostles, I think of Al and of his love and generosity. Coaching baseball/basketball, trips to Chuck E Cheese, helping kids with academics, serving the 8th grade breakfast and serving the New Berlin community... the list goes on and on! He was a true steward of God! There will never be another like him! We have been blest to have known him and are confident he is at peace in heaven! He will live on in the hearts of those he touched forever!!!!

A coach, a friend, a mentor...I'll never forget his generosity and great sense of humor. (Kim always convinced him to pop out his glass eye to freak out the rest of the girls on the softball team -back in 1982.) He is a ture hero because he has made the world a better place!

Mrs. Stigler, We cannot begin to express the sorrow that is in our hearts. Al was a true example of how a person should lead their lives. "When he was handed lemons, he made lemonade". He was a huge part of our family and will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace and may you find comfort to know that he is with God.

Dear Mrs. Stigler,
Ken and I stopped in to see Al on Saturday. He had told Kari that he wanted a bit of "ribbing" from Ken. I know Ken spoke to him privately and did just that. I feel fortunate that we were able to personally tell Al good-bye and that we loved him.
Ken and I as well as our children, Craig and Kari and their children were truly blessed to have known your son. A kinder, more generous, caring person I don't think I'll ever know. I'm sure God has a special place in heaven for Al and that he will be waiting there for us.

WOW! Al was a true hero and inspiration to us all. Al and my dad where neighbors growing up and dear friends for over 50 years. Naturally that made my brother and I very close to him as well. We became even closer the last 15 years, the time he has spent sponsoring Al's Kids softball team. I will never forget his passion for our team. He considered those 10 players his "kids" and would have done anything for us.
I think most of the guys will miss the nicknames he seemed to have for each of us and looking into the dugout knowing he was there. Next summer is going to be tough!
Hopefully we can continue to represent Al with the dignity and respect Al brought to life everyday.
New Berlin has lost one of their finest ever.
You will be dearly missed!

We’re going to miss you Al – you’re an inspiration for all. Thanks for the memories and generosity – from the volunteer time you spent with us at Holy Apostles to the pizza parties, Brewer games, bowling leagues, festivals and Al’s Kids. The list could go on for pages. We have been blessed by an incredible man.

To me, Al is synonymous with Holy Apostles, and New Berlin. I feel extremely honored to have known him, and have so many great memories of him; from the HA bowling league to his always saying "hi" to my mom & me when arriving at church, he proved to me (and hopefully to others) that no matter what life throws at you, move forward and make the best of it. His selflessness and positive attitude will never be forgotten. Thanks Al!

Al helped me learn to read during my years at Holy Apostles. I was not a great reader at the time so I spent alot of time with him:) He was my coach for softball and and bowling team. He was patient, firm and loving. We are all better people for knowing Al. God blessed him in so many ways.

I will long remember Al for the many hours he devoted to Holy Apostles and other worthy efforts in the community. I think back to the days when he was such an integral part in the development of the school's Athletic Association. The many hours and financial support he unselfishly gave for the purchase of bleachers, equipment, the start up of the school's first basketball tournament and all the rest.
Truly a cornerstone in the community. He was loved by many and will be missed.

Al, I will always remember the times when you babysat for us when my parents would go out. You were the greatest babysitter! I also loved being your adopted daughter for all the father-daughter dinner banquets. You are truly missed and loved by all!

Mrs Stigler -
I am so sorry for your loss. We have all lost a great guy! Al was an amazing man with a heart of gold, and will be missed dearly. He touched my life while volunteering at Holy Apostles. I was lucky enough to have visited Al on Friday and say my goodbyes. He told me not to cry that he was ready to go "home". Al you are loved by many and will be missed by all.
