Very sad to hear that Art passed away, a really wonderful man and an excellent architect and collaborator. I had been out of touch for a long time and tried to reach out, only to find this news. This is long overdue, but I wanted to share my sincere condolences for your loss. Rest in peace Art.

I knew Art via his late wife Cherie and her late sister, Lynn, my best friend. I just discovered Arts´ death this evening when it occurred to me that I hadn't heard from him after an email I had sent a few months ago because Art always answered back. I googled his name and saw his obituary. This is sad news. My heart goes out to Barbara and his kids, Lea and Dana.
This is a special family to me and I will remember them always.

When I was in the Army MPs in 1971 a group of new people arrived at Fort Ritchie. One of them was Art and we became friends from then on. After we got out of the Army I came up to Milwaukee from Chicago to visit Art. Eventually I moved to Milwaukee because I liked it here better than Chicago. He married Cherie and they had 2 wonderful children. I'm Dana's god-father. I was never as successful at careers as Art was, but he always welcomed me to his house for Packer games etc. I will miss him, and I'm glad to have been Art's friend for all these years.
